Everything You Want to Know About Spencer Vincent:

Spencer is the son of Stu and Heather Vincent (Heather pictured below with Spencer).  Born on July 17, 2001, Spencer was diagnosed with PSC.

On January 11, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., Dr. Maria Doyle's transplant team at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri got the call that a potential donation was available, enabling them to perform a life-saving liver transplant for Spencer.

Spencer and his mom, Heather, just before the procedure.

By 3:00 p.m. that same day, Dr. Doyle and her team began the nearly six-hour surgery to give Spencer the newly donated liver.

Following Spencer's successful transplant, caring and generous volunteers are currently raising funds for COTA in honor of Spencer (with a goal of $50,000), to help defray the estimated post-procedure expenses for the Vincent family. The costs of a transplant can commonly exceed $500,000, a financial burden many transplant families struggle to shoulder. The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses.
